The Fab CBD Team Helps Make Wisconsin Children’s Wishes Come True

In early October, Fab CBD Founder and Owner Josh Delaney, our team, Fab’s loyal customers, and many others in Wisconsin’s business community attended the Young Wishmakers of Wisconsin’s Cheers for Wishes 2019 benefit hosted by Make-A-Wish Wisconsin. The event, where Fab was a title sponsor, was held at GoodCity Brewing Company and featured an array of tasting stations, live entertainment, stock your bar, and interactive entertainment to raise donations so that Make-A-Wish Wisconsin could help fulfill the greatest wishes of area children suffering with debilitating and life-threatening illnesses.

During the event, Josh addressed the crowd in a heartfelt speech praising Fab’s employees and customers for allowing the company to make such a wonderful impact in the lives of area children who might not otherwise have the chance to see one of their greatest wishes come true. “Thank you guys for coming. We appreciate everybody that partakes in this, Make-A-Wish. We are an e-commerce business, and what good is being a success if you can’t give anything back? We recently moved our company to Milwaukee, so we were looking for something to be a part of and this jumped up — wasn’t a couple of weeks ago — and we were just excited to get in and be a sponsor quickly before anyone else could,” Josh said. “Thank you, everyone. We appreciate it. We’ve got a ton of customers local to Milwaukee that drove out, so thank you to everyone. As the title sponsor, I know that there was a set donation to give back to Robert to give to Disney, but we’ve got a little bit of a surprise we wanted to give to you. Rather than giving the title sponsor, which gives $5,000, we wanted to surprise you guys at Make-A-Wish and everybody for coming and give $10,000 to double that sponsorship.” Our company’s donation will help fulfill the wishes of Wisconsin area children who are struggling with severe and debilitating illnesses. And because of that, we at Fab would like to thank our customers, our team, and the Make-A-Wish Foundation for making this all possible.

Why it was Important for Us to Partner With Make-A-Wish

Make-A-Wish Wisconsin was founded in 1984, and has since helped grant the wishes of nearly 7,000 children and their families throughout the state. This year alone, the charitable organization has granted a stunning 396 wishes, with more than 350 children in the process of receiving wishes across Wisconsin. The main mission of Make-A-Wish is to grant wishes of the highest quality to all medically eligible children and to have the financial, staff, and volunteer resources available to accomplish this mission. It was imperative for us at Fab CBD to partner with Make-A-Wish Wisconsin because we believe in the importance of practicing what we preach. After all, what good are we to the world if we do not uplift others through our successes?

Our company and our customers truly care about our community, and with that in mind, we strive to partner with impactful charities both locally as well as worldwide in order to make a difference in the lives of others. In a letter to Josh after the benefit, Make-A-Wish Wisconsin’s President and CEO Patti Gorsky and Corporate Relations & Events Manager Andrea Hug wrote, “Thank you for transforming the lives of Wisconsin children with critical illness through the power of a wish. Your help is critical in helping fulfill our mission to grant the wish of every eligible child. Your $10,000 sponsorship of YWOW's Cheers for Wishes benefitting Make-A-Wish is helping hundreds of kids across Wisconsin feel stronger, more energetic, more willing and able to battle their illnesses.” Gorsky personally added, “Thank you for your generous support of Wish Kids! What a fabulous surprise at Cheers for Wishes!” Hug echoed Gorsky’s sentiments when she also inscribed, “Wow! Thank you so much for your incredible support and kindness! Looking forward to working with you again.”

When Wishes Take on Human Form

Our company was able to go above and beyond and double our donation from $5,000 to $10,000 for Make-A-Wish because of the generosity of our team, our community, and our customers. Thanks to everyone involved, area children like 14-year-old Nathaniel will have his longtime wish granted and will finally be able to enjoy an outdoor accessible glider swing of his own. Very soon, because of contributions from Fab CBD and other local businesses, both he and his family will enjoy the summer through the exhilarating swinging motion Nathaniel so enjoys. Even though an outdoor accessible swing may seem like a simple wish, what this piece of equipment affords is beyond measure: this swing provides Nathaniel and his family with the opportunity to forget his medical worries so that they can all enjoy life together.

Twelve-year-old Alan, another Wisconsin native who is battling end-stage renal disease, will also have his wish fulfilled by Make-A-Wish Wisconsin when he is granted the shopping spree of a lifetime at the Mall of America in Minneapolis. As part of his trip, Alan and his family will stay and have fun at the Radisson Hotel & Water Park of America where they will play in the water park and interactive pools, visit the Sea Life Aquarium, and have dinner at the Rainforest Cafe before shopping in all of his favorite stores. Many more Wisconsin-area children like Brady wish to go on a Canadian fishing trip, while others like Charlie wish to go on a dinosaur dig. Still, more like Ella wish to have her very own swimming pool, while Abryeana, Bryan, Richard, and others wish to visit the Walt Disney World Resort. Make-A-Wish and sponsors like Fab CBD help make these dreams a reality through events and charitable contributions. As a community, we at Fab CBD could not be prouder to have been able to be a part of wishes like Nathaniel’s and Alan’s, as well as many other wishes of the children in our community who are dealing with severe illness.
