In regard to the impact of separation anxiety, it can lead to familial conflict when a spouse or child feels the anxious individual is smothering him or her, or is overly worried about his or her safety.  Family members, friends and spouses may go out of their way to avoid those with separation anxiety, leading to feelings of frustration for everyone involved.

What Triggers an Anxiety Attack?

Whether you have general anxiety, separation anxiety or social anxiety, you may experience an anxiety attack. If anxiety can be defined as a sprawling storm cloud blotting out the sun, then an anxiety attack can be viewed as a torrential downpour that leaves you feeling as if you’re drowning, gulping for air and weighted down with drenched clothes.
